Lucas von Luzern is a handsome 6 year old German Shepherd. His family sadly lost their home and Lucas almost lost his life. Many shepherds get so depressed in a kill shelter they can’t do much to get themselves out of a bad situation. Lucas turned on the charm, he had two of our volunteers begging to make room for him, so we did. Lucas is a very good dog and already making us proud. He rode in the transport van happily with two dogs he just met. We rescued a female German Shepherd, Isabella at the same time. Lucas fell in love with her on the ride to the rescue and cried when they took her into the kennel before him. They are now happily sharing the same kennel run. So far Lucas is not interested in cats, but we will test him again. Lucas walks well on the leash and when you ask him to sit he lays down, but we understand today was so hot!
